How much does OPIOSTOP treatment cost and how is it financed?

COSTS AND FINANCING

Opiate withdrawal under anaesthesia is not a mandatory benefit that health insurers are obliged provide. The costs for a patient from Switzerland are around CHF 14'600. The health insurance company will cover only the outpatient services. The cost of treatment is generally covered by the patients themselves or their families. Some of our former patients have received support in the form of an interest-free loan or have been funded by a charitable association, while others received money from pro-abstinence foundations. The OPIOSTOP Foundation is in the process of being set up; support may be requested if funding the treatment yourself is not an option. Foreign patients are requested to submit an enquiry. The country-specific costs vary greatly and must be considered on an individual basis.
